About Jacob

I have been teaching theater – practice, theory, history, and appreciation – at the college and university level for over twenty years. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 2018. My doctoral dissertation, “The Dissent of Man: Stephen Colbert and the Evolution of Recursive Parody,” examines how parody and authenticity operate together.

While writing my dissertation, I worked at a vocational rehabilitation clinic for clients with neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injuries. Working with the clients and staff there gave me a deep appreciation for each clients’ unique journey in trying to regain control over their lives, and the difficult work each client must face on that journey.

I’ve been working with trial attorneys since 2018, and have helped to increase settlement value and to drive damages in many large jury verdicts.
